Jen Pourvasei, LMFT -

Therapist for Anxiety & Trauma

You don't have to stay stuck in anxiety,

overthinking, or the weight of past experiences.

Healing is possible - and I'm here to help.

Hi, I'm Jen.

For the past 18 years, I've helped people just like you - people who feel trapped in negative thought spirals, overwhelmed by emotions, or carrying unresolved pain from the past.

I know how exhausting it can be to feel anxious, uncertain, or stuck. I also know that change is possible - you don't have to figure it out alone.

That's where therapy comes in.

What Therapy with Me Looks Like

Therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space—where you can be yourself, feel heard, and finally start to heal. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to what works for you.

✔If anxiety and overthinking are running your life...

I use practical tools inspired by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you regain control. Whether it’s learning how to quiet overwhelming thoughts, set healthy boundaries, or respond to triggers differently, we’ll focus on real strategies that work in your daily life.

✔ If trauma has left you feeling stuck in the past...

We’ll take a structured, gentle approach to healing—starting with tools to manage triggers, then processing past experiences in a way that feels safe, and finally shifting unhelpful beliefs that may still be holding you back. The goal? Helping you break free from old patterns and find peace in the present.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve been there.

Like many of my clients, I’ve experienced anxiety, depression, and a harsh inner critic. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re constantly talking down to yourself or trying to silence an overwhelming mind.

That’s why I believe so deeply in this work. I've put in the work to change my life, and I’m passionate about helping others find the same relief, clarity, and confidence.

Let’s take this step together.

Whether you're looking for short-term strategies to

manage anxiety or long-term healing for trauma, I'm here to support you.

You don’t have to face this alone.

Some facts about Jen.....

💙 I was a springboard and platform diver in high school and college

(Go Bruins!)

📖 I’ve been fascinated by human experiences since 8th grade—reading dozens of memoirs to understand different perspectives.

📚 I’m an avid reader—my all-time favorite book is I Know This Much is True, but I also loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

💭 I’m no stranger to self-doubt or anxiety—I've done my work to quiet my inner critic.

💜 I've always been a good listener and able to share helpful perspectives, even before I learned how to be a therapist.

🎥 I love rewatching comfort shows like Parks and Recreation, Hart of Dixie, and Scrubs.
